Discord is looking for highly technical, creative and forward-thinking engineer to join our Foundations and Performance team. This team at Discord is responsible for unlocking foundational capabilities that facilitate Discord’s User Interface to be performant and reliable across all platforms. • Work across iOS, Android, and web to guarantee a reliable and performant experience for all our users.
• Contribute to adopting the latest frameworks and architectural patterns that will enhance the end user experience.
• Build internal tools to empower all of engineering to create performant features
• Address performance issues either in a foundational manner or by collaborating with product area experts.
• Work with empathetic and smart engineers who believe in creating a place of belonging for everyone.

• You have 2+ years experience working on large, cross-platform software projects.
• Familiarity with web (React, TypeScript) or iOS (React Native, Objective-C, Swift). We're a cross-platform team and believe that engineers should be empowered to work across a variety of tech stacks. The stacks you don't know, we'll teach you!
• You enjoy coming up with pragmatic solutions to concrete problems using first principles thinking.
• Maintain a high degree of empathy for your internal and external users and seek feedback from them about your work..
• You have strong communication skills and thrive in small, collaborative, energetic teams.
