Software Engineer - Front End

Job Description

FanDuel is looking for a Front End Software Engineer to join our SportsBook Channels Domain in Edinburgh or Glasgow. You will be working on a multi-faceted sportsbook application and play a key part in making our platform highly usable by writing clear, scalable front end code.

What you’ll do:

Our roster has an opening with your name on it

In this role, you will be working on front-end applications for FanDuel’s Sportsbook product, using Native application development primarily in React Native and React.

As a Software Engineer, you are able to take defined designs and turn them into secure, stable, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects. Software Engineers tend to work with less autonomy, instead, they receive greater support from more seasoned engineers throughout their work but will on occasion take ownership for small to medium-sized components or features.

• Paired programming, code reviews and improving the code base
• Actively participating in sprint backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, sprint review and sprint retrospectives
• Focus on technical debt issues and debugging code
• Working, as part of a team, to deliver major new features and lead the development of smaller deliverable features

What you’ll bring:

We are looking for Front End Software Engineers who are getting started on building small components and are able to work independently and quickly. You will, ideally, have experience of releasing applications and adding features to an existing product but we’re open minded from which industry.

Tech Stack should include:

• JavaScript using React and/or React Native
• Understanding of Agile software development
• Quality and testing focused with your code
• Native, Swift or Kotlin is a nice to have
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies, ideally AWS
