Job Description
Associate Product Manager
Kipsu's growing team of 85 is looking to hire analytical, driven, and curious individuals with 1 to 3 years of career experience to come be part of a dedicated, fast-moving team and play a role in defining how products are built and innovation is done at a proven (12 years in) tech company in downtown Minneapolis.
The Why
With the service world becoming increasingly automated and people being replaced by bots, Kipsu leads instead by bringing humans paired with technology to the forefront of service. Kipsu provides a new way for businesses and guests to engage through real-time digital channels, transforming what it feels like to give and receive great service in real-time.
The What
As an Associate Product Manager on our collaborative and motivated team, you’ll have the chance to:
- Work in a fast-paced environment with a team that is collaborative and adaptive to an evolving market and customer base
- Understand customer problems and conduct business analysis to inform development and innovation
- Design products and write requirements for product enhancements as we expand our solution
- Collaborate across multiple teams internally and externally on identifying needs, understanding systems, and designing solutions in order to integrate systems
- Become an expert on our product, how it’s used by our customers, and how we can maintain our status as the "best in class" solution
- Apply product and technical knowledge when engaging with customers and designing solutions to integrate Kipsu with their day to day tools and needs.
- Play a role in strategic planning efforts as our company matures, adds new features, and enters into new markets
- Collaborate with a motivated team of peers on requirements validation and feature testing to ensure the team is always putting out the best product possible
- Learn and apply agile product development practices as we continuously iterate on our process and techniques to grow and mature our Product team - we think of it as a "startup within a startup"
The Who
We’re hiring people who:
- Possess an enthusiastic and persistent curiosity of how things work
- Are fearless and willing to dive into familiar or unfamiliar realms of technology; to learn, investigate, experiment, or apply
- Possess technical aptitude with a willingness and eagerness to bridge technical gaps between customer and product
- Are comfortable engaging in high level technical conversations (APIs, system integrations, data, etc) in order to elicit needs for product functionality
- Are comfortable with reading and applying API documentation, both internally and with customers
- Can identify dependencies in complex systems and plan and prioritize relative to value and impact
- Can effectively present and articulate complex ideas to people with technical and non-technical backgrounds both verbally and visually
- Can break down complex problems into components, dive into the details, and build back to a solution
- Have an instinct to read between the lines to elicit the underlying need, asking “why” one more time
- See problems and take initiative to fix them, jumping in to take action rather than waiting for someone else to do it
- Drive investigation and thinking using quantitative data and qualitative observations
Bonus points for experience in:
- Having an entrepreneurial streak or a history of working at startups or on side projects
- Having an engineering background, whether software, chemistry, mechanical, civil, etc.
- Experimenting with technology, making websites, or designing applications
- Familiarity with relational databases and software development methodologies
In addition to the opportunity to be a key part of a small, focused team at a successful and rapidly growing startup, we offer competitive salary and benefits, stock options, and the trust and freedom to move the proverbial needle. If you’re looking to hone your skills and learn a whole host of new ones as a valued member of our high-performing team, then we’d like to meet you.
