To support our legal department we are looking for a
Senior Legal Counsel - EU (m/f/d)
(Hybrid in Berlin or remote in the UK or the Netherlands/ Full-time/ Permanent)
Your tasks:
- Legal and strategic advice and support to our sales team in contract drafting/negotiation (especially MSAs, NDAs, and other customer and supplier contracts)
- Adherence to compliance guidelines, especially with regard to the DSGVO and the BDSG
- Assisting with German labor law and corporate law matters in occasional cooperation with external law firms
- Managing legal proceedings in cooperation with external law firms.
- Keep current with relevant laws, regulations and developments that impact the company's business activities
Your profile:
- Fully qualified German lawyer (second state law examination)
- At least five years of professional experience in the area of general contract law (commercial), preferably with experience in a law firms and internal legal departments for a global SaaS providere
- Experience in customer-facing contract negotiations on business agreements (e.g., NDAs, SaaS agreements)
- Extensive experience in interpreting and drafting standard terms and conditions and advising sales teams and business managers on contractual obligations and related risk assessments
- Basic knowledge of German labor law and corporate law
- Strong understanding of the German Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)
- Analytical, structural and implementation-oriented thinking, combined with a solution- and goal-oriented hands-on personality, and expertise in German contract law
- Professional fluency in German and English; able to conduct all negotiations/discussions in either language (written and verbal) with particular reference to the applicable German statutes and laws
