Position Overview

Beyond Limits is seeking a high-energy, creative, and passionate Full Stack Senior Software Engineer to join our knowledge platform team. This entails working with all aspects of front-end/back-end design and implementation, interfacing with cutting-edge A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) technologies. As part of the development team, you will take the lead on building complex features and components, looking to continuously improve functionality. This role has exposure to many different technologies and business verticals creating huge room for learning and professional growth.

The ideal candidate will have a record of progressive technical experience, sharp coding skills and a wide breadth of knowledge in software engineering. You will have the opportunity to mentor other engineers, create best practices, and lead projects through multiple stages of development.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Be hands-on with the team in developing capabilities that visualize and interact with data and knowledge at scale
• Work with the UX designers to understand requirements and build front-end web application components
• Design and build web applications written in a variety of technologies, including building reusable UI components and microservices in a modularized manner
• Collaborate in an agile manner with engineers, data scientists, product owners and other cross-functional teams to deliver compelling platform functionality
• Work alongside the Software Manager and drive technical conversations, participate in architectural decision-making, foster innovation and provide technical guidance to mid-level and junior engineers
• Establish and adhere to best practices in Design Thinking and User-Centric principles
• Be instrumental in evaluating customer requests and design needs in an efficient manner

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of applied software engineering and technical experience
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related degree
• Experience with modern JavaScript libraries, tooling, and frameworks, preferably React
• Proficient in all application layers, including front end, middle tier/server side, and database
• Solid understanding of software design and architecture
• Proficiency with at least one of the following back-end languages: Java, Scala, Python
• Experience implementing software development best practices for code management, continuous integration, and automated testing
• A strong problem-solver mentality, and an intense curiosity about all things technology
• Hands on experience developing cloud applications targeting AWS and/or Azure

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of leading teams/projects from concept to deployment
• Willingness and ability to quickly learn new tools and methodologies
• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra
• Experience with continuous integration and containerized deployments
• Hands on experience with messaging frameworks such as Kafka, ActiveMQ and/or RabbitMQ

Please note: This position is located in our Glendale, CA headquarters and is eligible to participate in the company's hybrid 3/2 work model.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $160,776 to $170,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or company stock options may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
