When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

• Oversee accounting staff to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables and processes, including providing improvements on the month end accounting close
• Liaise with external auditors and assist in annual financial audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to audit inquiries
• Lead the accounting for various areas, including Cost of Goods sold, Inventory, Fixed assets and others
• Prepare and review monthly journal workbooks and entries for various accounting areas
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes under GAAP guidelines
• Provide in depth financial statement analysis and meaningful explanations for trends and fluctuations
• Prepare balance sheet and P&L account level analyses and reconciliations to support amounts
• Maintain and review various accruals, cost allocations and related subledgers
• Assist in accounting research and analysis to construct memorandums and provide conclusions on technical accounting matters
• Work cross functionally with Finance, Legal, AP, Payroll, FP&A, Tax and various business owners on policies, processes, and help drive key system initiatives and improvements
• Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controller
• This is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days per week at our 3 World Trade Center office.

Our dream candidate has...

• A BA/BS in accounting or finance
• 7-9 years of accounting experience
• Experience managing or mentoring team members
• Willingness to extend themselves and assist other people
• Understanding of financial controls and GAAP
• Advanced experience and competency working with Excel
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment

Nice to have:

• CPA or CPA track preferred
• Experience across public and private accounting is preferred
• Prior experience with an E-commerce and/or manufacturing entity
• Exposure to large ERP system (JD Edwards a plus)
• Experience with standard costing

Targeted Annual Base Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD

Casper’s compensation philosophy ensures that the actual base salary is based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, experience, special training, time in position, and/or years of service.
