We are looking for mobile games Producer with a passion for Project Management to facilitate a cross-functional team to successfully launch the next hit Disney/Pixar game. The Producer will implement, maintain, and coach Project Management best practices to ensure an on-schedule delivery of a high-quality game. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude and open mind - consistently providing an objective perspective on team velocity & risks to the project. Open to fully remote candidates ideally located in Montreal or in the Eastern time zone of the US willing to flex to PDT hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a cross-functional team in all project management rituals: scoping, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups.
- Set up and maintain our JIRA Project to keep the team organized and on task. As needed, write complex queries using JQL.
- Hold the team accountable to their stated goals through regular check-ins.
- Accurately forecast project completion based on scope and velocity.
- Organize, support, and optimize the team; knocking down obstacles before the team encounters them.
- Create & maintain project tracking documentation to share with the team and stakeholders (burndown charts, burnup charts, team velocity changes, etc.).
- Objectively measure, review, and report project data to game leads and executives
- Effectively communicate risks around assumptions vs. actuals and make educated recommendations for mitigating project risks including cost of change when plans change
- Be a strong advocate for constant improvement across all vectors: team, processes, product, etc.
- Lead by example. Set the tone for the team to ensure high productivity and morale: engagement, enthusiasm, professionalism and a strong work ethic.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in a production role within the games industry orchestrating work for internal & external teams
- 2+ years of experience developing free-to-play games with data-based decision-making and running games-as-a-service in live operations.
- At least one mobile game shipped
- Firm understanding of Agile, Waterfall and other project management best practices including: Costing/Estimating (T-shirt sizing, etc.), Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Retrospectives.
- Experience measuring and tracking team progress against long-term goals. Basic understanding of Burnup and Burndown charts and excited to learn more.
- Superb time management skills
- Proficient at various production tools: Jira, Confluence, G-Suite, MS Office, Mac OS, etc.
- Demonstrated objective judgment under uncertain circumstances with maturity and confidence to effectively address critical issues.
- Collaborative nature with a strong ability to lead
- Able to manage difficult conversations and facilitate disagreements
- An open mind and an ability to adapt new ways of thinking and executing
- Able to embrace change and uncertainty and apply a creative approach to problem-solving
- Ability to focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
