About the Role: Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Billing Specialist is responsible for managing invoice generation and delivery, address billing issues and queries, develops and completes data quality checks, investigates invoice discrepancies and revenue leakages, create reports to address both customer, management and inter-department requests as needed, and identifies opportunities to enhance the billing process. The Billing Specialist will be the point person who will help ensure invoice generation and delivery is complete, accurate and done in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Manually submits for billing professional services sales orders and billable time/travel charges
    • Generates manual invoices and corrects invoices as needed.
    • Updates and manage billing contact records
    • Processes billing address and email address changes, invoice delivery method set up and investigates issues arising from customer inquiries and undelivered mails/emails
    • Completes regular data error checks and reconciliation reports to deal with actual and potential billing discrepancies
    • Prepares special monthly reports that go with the invoice package that are emailed to the customers who requested them (i.e. consolidated billing summary, invoice summary and subscription details report, etc.)
    • Performs invoice review and validation of our census, partners and other non-standard billing category to ensure accuracy and collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve any inconsistencies.
    • Performs data checks and template clean up to prepare invoices for delivery to 3rd party print vendor and generates monthly report
    • Documents and communicates to manager & senior staff any system-related issues/bugs as well as recommends system enhancements to improve efficiency and productivity
    • Submits cases to Account Services team to request billing review and changes to customer subscriptions and to Enterprise Application team for assistance on billing issues as well as enhancement requests
    • Documents new processes and updates existing procedure manuals
    • Address billing request and inquiry from other staff within and outside the department
    • Collaborates with team members and other cross functional groups to ensure timely and accurate billing
    • Performs other relevant functions that may be assigned from time to time.

Your Key Strengths:

    • Degree/diploma in Accounting, Finance or Business
    • Direct billing experience with large and complex organizations with demanding requests will be an asset
    • High attention to details and problem-solving skills
    • Strong MS Office skills with Intermediate to Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel – i.e. formulas, pivot tables, look-up functionality.
    • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours to support strategic initiatives and month end processes
    • Excellent organizational, time management and people skills
    • Initiative-taker, proactive with positive attitude and great work ethic
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Exemplary team player who can build solid internal working relationships through influence and collaboration.
    • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
$27 - $30 an hour At PointClickCare, base salary is one of the many components that make up our total rewards package. The Canada hourly range for this position is $27 - $30, overtime eligible. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
