The Department of Radiation Oncology in SoM is seeking a Computer Support Analyst 1 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Under general supervision, support the computing needs of the School of Medicine department of Radiation Oncology including Applications Maintenance/Support, Operating Systems Support, Hardware Support, and User Training/Support.
  • Assist end users with installation and use of basic commercial software and applications (e.g. email clients or office applications) on computers and devices including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Operating systems include Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS and others.
  • Assist end users with use of Radiation Oncology specific software including Elekta Mosaiq, RaySearch RayStation, MIM, Epic, Cerner, and other technical software and data analysis tools, DICOM image transfer, and all other commercially and locally developed software including remote desktop or Citrix connection to local and remote sites. Training will be given on specialty and in house systems/software.
  • First tier diagnosis and repair of hardware, software, applications, and networking problems either in person or remotely on multiple desktop/workstation/server platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and others. Installs system components or peripheral hardware.
  • Write operating system command procedures; maintain, modify, and install system level software such as operating systems, device drivers and communications software.
  • Assist in identifying user problems on the use of applications or programs (both commercial and in house) installed on multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, and others) and suggest remedies.
  • Assist with system malfunctions and identify and contact the responsible department/vendor/agency to coordinate repairs.
  • Assist in the analysis of computer/telecommunications services and equipment needs. Coordinate moves, changes and minor installations. Research purchases and processes orders to maintain computer/telecommunication/equipment inventories as well as replace or upgrade existing items. Assist with the disposal of surplus property.
  • Assist with upgrading/maintaining smaller components of a project or existing applications.
  • Runs basic tests on hardware/software.
  • Schedule and implement on-going maintenance such as running backup programs, updating software, etc.
  • Perform systems analysis and program design tasks in determining computer system specifications, developing systems, operational procedures, and developing data models.
  • Write simple programs and maintain program modules.
  • Monitor security, capacity and resource management systems/network.
  • Assist in performing information technology training activities and onboarding of new students, staff, and faculty.
  • Assist end users with scheduling, setup, and running of remote meetings and telepresence (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.).
  • Assist end users with remote connectivity to systems, applications, and resources hosted both in house and at partner institutions. Coordinate with local and partner IT professionals in this effort locally and remotely. Will include occasional local travel to partner institutions in Seattle area.
  • Receive and inventory software/hardware. Coordinate software license counts.
  • Perform related duties as required.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Two years of experience in programming or computer support services of a technical nature.
  • Equivalent education/experience.
    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other relevant field and some experience in IT support.
  • Good communication skills and manor for working with users of all levels of skill or importance.
  • Ability to understand and follow rules to safely work with Protected Healthcare Information and to keep it secure.
  • Previous experience in a hospital/clinical environment.
  • Prior experience in administration of Windows and/or Linux servers supporting users.
