The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Full-Time Research Coordinator. The Research Core Coordinator contributes to the growth and success of the Department by supporting and promoting the research objectives. The coordinator works with faculty members to identify research problems and assist in the design, execution, and data coordination in research. Specific activities include overseeing the REDCAP databases, start-up and execution of prospective research studies, including IRB and Data Use Agreement preparation and submissions and Oncore/CTMS entry, as well as subject recruitment and study coordination. This position will also be involved in chart review, data collection, and data analysis. The studies supported will include investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trial studies. The research core is comprised of a team of research staff, and there may be some cross-over with other roles, including supporting retrospective IRB and Data User Agreement processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Research Coordination and Study Start-up Support- 85%
Management, coordination and implementation of human subjects research projects (IRB submission, HIPAA, CTMS, HSRAC, subject recruitment, data collection, document management, budget management).
Manage, coordinate, and implement clinical trials in accordance with FDA, IRB, and Good Clinical Practices.
Manage the maintenance of research study and regulatory files to ensure audit readiness and that the files are maintained and stored in a manner and for a timeframe that meets regulatory requirements.
Identify problems, propose solutions, and implement those solutions following consultation with the PI.
Attend necessary meetings for ongoing research projects.
Manage research-specific budgets.
Manage the development of forms and questionnaires for research studies.
Organize, and maintain computer and paper study records.
Employing best practices, design and manage the development and maintenance of study database tracking, subject recruitment, milestones, appointments, and assessments.
Assist in establishing and maintaining contact with departments and staff across multiple disciplines, including healthcare providers.
Support patient recruitment and recruitment team coordination.
Administer and curate the REDCap databases and survey forms and other process improvements- 5%
Administer and curate the REDCap databases and survey forms, if appropriate, and with training, make modifications or add extensions to the REDCap databases and survey forms. Make other process improvements as necessary.
Self/Team Development- Continuing Training Learning- 10%
Training in research administration, human subjects research requirements, data use agreements, research data access requirements, policies, and approaches (including REDCap) across the UW Medicine research enterprise. This is a key part of the career enhancement and continual learning aspect for this position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in a related scientific field.
2+ years of related research coordinator or administration experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience writing IRB and/or other research applications or documents, responses, modifications, closeouts, etc.
Experience with patient engagement and preferably, patient recruitment.
Time management, multi-tasking, detailoriented and organizational skills, and a positive attitude to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Research Coordinator experience.
Familiarity with clinical and investigational Radiology Ability to adapt to new software and interpret changing policies.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Access and/or other database programs such as RedCAP.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse communities.
Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities and experience. Ability to create an organized presentation to groups in various formats.
Experience with scientific writing and/or data analysis for publication.
Knowledge of and experience with the University of Washington systems such as SAGE, Oncore and Zipline, or willingness and capacity to learn.
