Updates

What's New?

A rundown of the latest Huntr feature releases, product enhancements, design updates, and important bug fixes.

📎 Invites Via CSV, 👥 Better Job Sourcing Tools, 📓 Improved Job Seeker CRM Functionality & More

2023 has only just started, and here at Huntr, we've been totally focused on making sure our Advisors have the tools they need to succeed. Our product roadmap has been set entirely by our current customers' priorities and has included updates big and small to improve your experience.

📎 Import Job Seekers via CSV

We are very excited about this feature! You can now add job seekers simply by uploading a CSV with their custom fields populated. This should save time sending invites and ensure that key job seeker data is in Huntr. We've changed the "Create Board" button to "Invite Job Seekers," and you can now send invites from either the "Job Seeker" or the “boards” tab. We have also improved the custom field entry form. You can still copy and paste emails in if you like. See a video tutorial of CSV invites here!

👥 Job Seeker Groups

There are several reasons you might want to have job seekers assigned to specific groups. For example, you may want to group job seekers based on a program or location to easily source jobs for that specific group. Or simply to have a better way to quickly view progress and reporting. Job seeker groups allow you to set static ("Regular") or dynamic groups based on your custom fields.

👁️ Limit Job Post Portal Visibility

Make sure that when job seekers go to your organization's job portal, they're seeing relevant posts by limiting visibility. You can now limit job post visibility to only certain job seeker groups. For example, if you have a program for Full Stack Developers and one for UI/UX Designers, you can limit the visibility of your UI/UX design roles to just your UI/UX job seekers.

🔏 Candidate Profile Required Fields + Completion Status

You want to make sure that your job seekers are always putting their best foot forward. That's why we've built filters so that you can easily see how complete a job seeker's profile is and whether they've completed all the required fields that you have assigned prior to sharing their profile with hiring managers and recruiters. Required fields can be set and managed in your settings tab.

Don't have access to Candidate Profiles as part of your plan? Reach out to [email protected]

📓 Private Job Seeker Notes

You'll now be able to keep track of all your notes on job seekers in their member profiles. This means that you and your team will all be on the same page as to where job seekers are at in their search.

Job Seeker Timeline View

Want to see what a job seeker has been up to? We've redesigned the job seeker member record with an easy-to-navigate timeline view complete with all the activities they are doing in Huntr.

🔒 Create Custom Permission Groups

As your organization grows into the Huntr Advisor platform, you may find the need to limit certain actions to only a set of members of your team. Maybe one team member only needs access to API-related features, while another requires full feature permissions. We developed Permission Groups to help you deal with this situation, and now you have the ability to create your own custom groups.

Performance Improvements

You may also notice that the app loads a bit quicker in the past few weeks. Our engineers have made several changes that have improved performance and given us the runway to support even larger organizations as you grow and scale.

⚙️ Webhook Filters

You will now have the ability to filter webhooks to only trigger when specific actions occur. You can now also add filters by activity types and activity categories.

🤖 API Updates

  • New advisorEmail body parameter in Create Organization Invitation endpoint to assign an advisor to newly invited members.
  • New memberFieldValuesKeyedById field in Member resource for quick access to member's custom field values.
  • New lastSeenAt field in Member.
📨 Send job posts to job seekers, 🏷️ Job post tags and 📍Multi location job posts

If you’ve been using Huntr as an advisor in the past month you might’ve noticed a few new features going live. Our increased engineering capacity has made the past 30 days one of the most productive development periods in our short history! Without further ado, here’s the new features that went live in the past month:

📨 Send Job Post to Job Seekers (API + In-app)

Up until now, only job seekers themselves could save your internal portal opportunities into their boards. Starting today, you can now (as an advisor) proactively send any opportunity from your portal directly to one or more job seekers’ boards. This is ideal for cases where you feel that an opportunity is a great fit for one or more job seekers.

Once you’ve shared a job post with a job seeker, they will see a new card in their board that they (or you) can manage in the context of their personal job search.

Finally, we’ve added a new Pipeline section in the job post details page. This is an area were you can visualize all of the job seekers in the running for a specific opportunity; it includes both job seekers you sent an opportunity to and those who saved it from your portal.

🏷️ Job Post Tags

Categorize job posts by role, location, industry and any other parameter you’d like by using Job Post Tags. Each job post can multiple tags. After tagging, your job seekers will be able to filter jobs in your internal portal by the custom tags you’ve created.

From their end, job seekers can view and filter job posts by tag.

📍Multi Location Job Posts

Have job posts available in more than one city that you want to add to your portal? We now support multiple locations for job posts.

❌ Auto Close Job Posts

You can now have Huntr automatically close old job postings in your portal. Just go to Settings > General > Toggle on ‘Auto Close Job Posts Enabled’.

🤖 API Updates

We added some new functionalities to our API to support some of our new features:

🐞 Small Updates and Fixes

👀 Candidate Profile Job Seeker Active Status Filter

In the candidate search view you can now filter for candidates whose Huntr membership with your organization is either 'Active' or 'Deactivated'.

🔗 Persist Filters in Reports

If you apply a filter for a report, we now persist those filters in the url so that if you navigate away from the report and come back, the same filters will be applied.

🔑 SAML SSO, 👁️ Toggle Candidate Visibility and more..

We’ve been heads down focused on growing the team and building product since our last update. We’re excited to welcome Trevor McCann as the newest member of the Huntr team, Trevor joined as a full stack engineer in October, arming us with more capacity to keep building tools that help you our schools, coaches and organizational customers help their job seekers. We’ve also pushed some important new features like SAML SSO, new reports, more data export functions and more.

🛣️ Public Product Roadmap

Stay updated with the features we’re working on and what’s coming down the pipeline with our new public product roadmap! We work in 2 week sprint cycles, so expect to see new features every week. View the Roadmap.

🔑 SAML Single Sign On

SAML SSO allows your job seekers to log into Huntr with your organization’s internal authentication service (G-Suite, Azure Active Directory, OneLogin, etc). This means that your job seekers will not have to create yet another set of credentials and can log in directly into Huntr from your intranet, bypassing the email-password login step. If you’re interested in SAML SSO, contact our sales team! Contact us for more info.

👁️ Candidate Profiles Visibility toggle

Want to hide profiles from employer partners until they're completed, or maybe hide the profiles of candidates who have already been placed? Take full control over the candidate profiles that your employer partners see with employer visibility toggles. You can now toggle candidate profiles individually or in bulk from the Candidate Search view. Not using candidate profiles yet and are interested? Contact us to schedule a demo!

☑️ Bulk Job Post Editing

Need to close hundreds of job posts at a time? You can now bulk update the status for job posts, just check the boxes next to the selected job post rows and click the bulk actions button at the top left of the table.

📊 Job Counts By Stage Report

While our Activity reports and charts are useful for analyzing what your job seekers have been doing during a specific time frame, they are not useful at displaying the number of jobs that currently sit in each stage of a job seeker’s board. So, our new Job Counts By Stage report shows the current number of jobs each job seeker has in each stage of the board template selected at the top right.

📈 Reports View

We’ve replaced our dashboard view with a friendlier Reports section, making it easier to find and analyze the data you’re looking for.

📁 Export Reports & Chart Data

Export csv data from a report or chart by clicking the export button at the bottom left of each table.

📄 Document Upload, 🏢 Employer Portal, 💎Talent Showcase and more...

It has been a busy few months since our last update and we couldn’t be more excited to share the results of our work! We’ve launched some key features that will help your coaching teams, along with some new functionalities that will make it easier to showcase and create connections between your talented job seekers and your employer partners.

📄 Document uploads

Your job seekers can now upload all of their job search documents into Huntr , wherever they live (local upload, DropBox, Box, Google Drive and more) and even link them to job opportunities.

Your coaching team can now review all of a job seeker’s documents from the admin dashboard and even view the Documents without having to leave the dashboard. Learn more here

🧑 Candidate profiles

Job seekers can now create their own professional profiles within your platform. These profiles capture everything your team and your employer partners need to match job seekers to great opportunities. Your team will have full access and edit rights to candidate profiles, allowing you to jump in when needed.

Our candidate profile fields are extensive. On top of traditional fields like Education, Skills, Experience, Projects, etc; we also give job seekers the opportunity to express their job preferences, like salary ranges, locations, industries, roles and much more. See the next section to learn more about how you can use candidate profiles to showcase your talent. Learn more.

💎 Talent showcase

As your job seekers build their professional profiles (with your team’s help), you get to browse through these profiles with powerful filters. Want to find your engineers looking for work in Seattle? Or perhaps your designers with Figma skills open to remote opportunities? Our extensive filters plus full text search (including text decoded from document uploads) make browsing and finding candidates a breeze. No need to spend hours manually parsing through resumes or LinkedIn profiles to match candidates to employers or opportunities.

Once you’ve found one or more candidates, you can either save them to candidate lists (which you can decide to share with select employer partners) or export them to a CSV or branded PDF resume books in seconds. Learn about Candidate Search.

💻 Employer portal

Provide your employer partners with a white labeled self serve portal where they can browse candidate profiles and post jobs directly to your job portal. It all starts with an invite sent to your partners. You can decide what permissions to give each partner, from browsing candidate profiles to posting jobs, you have full control over who can do what.

Employer partners can view who has saved jobs they’ve posted. Any opportunities posted by the employer partner will be visible by your job seekers through your portal. Employer partners can also see all the job seekers who have saved and applied to an opportunity they posted. Learn more here.

🌎 Custom domains

Take your branded platform to the next level by hosting it under your own custom domain name. Contact us if you are interested.

📝 Job seekers can edit custom field values

Want your job seekers to select their program, cohort or graduation date themselves? With custom field visibility and permissions you can allow job seekers to view and update data about themselves. Your job seekers will now see a new Membership section on the left side menu of their Huntr dashboard, there they will see their assigned advisor and any custom fields you have given them view/edit access to. Learn more.

* Note that all custom fields are private by default, you have to toggle this permission on in your organization’s settings to make a field accessible to job seekers.

🕑 Last seen at field

Ever wonder which job seekers in a cohort are actively using Huntr? Or when was the last time someone logged in? You can now get this information through the last seen column in the Job Seekers table. We update this field each time a job seeker logs in or does anything within the platform.

🤖 New API actions and resource

As a result of the new Document Upload feature, our API has a 3 new action (and hence Webhooks!) types and a new Document resource type. Read the changelog.

🎯 Design and track goals to keep job seekers engaged and on track

🎯 Job Seeker Goals

The Huntr Goals feature is a game changer for keeping your job seekers engaged and on track with their search! Goals allow you to design recurring (weekly/monthly) or one time goals for your job seekers and track goal performance across all of them.

Once you enroll a job seeker into a goal, they'll be able to log activities towards that goal. Huntr takes care of creating weekly/monthly goal intervals, notifying your job seekers of upcoming goal deadlines, tracking their progress and offering those metrics up so you can quickly view who is performing well or falling behind. Schedule Demo or Learn more here.

We've also added profile photos that both advisors and job seekers can upload.

📝 Activity Category Instructions

You can now write rich text instructions for your job seekers for any custom activity categories you've created. Instructions can even contain links to other sites. They allow you to expand on what you expect of your job seekers when they are logging certain activities.

Permission Groups + Bulk Job Seeker Updates

🔑 Team member permissions

As your organization grows into the Huntr Advisor platform, you may find the need to limit certain actions to only a set of members of your team. Maybe one team member only needs access to API related features, while another requires full feature permissions. We developed Permission Groups to help you deal with this situation. Learn more.

❌ Disable Activity Categories

You can now disable Activity Categories. Perhaps you created your own Custom Activity Categories, and some of them are duplicates of our defaults. Maybe you don't want to overwhelm your job seekers with too many activity category options. Or maybe you want to replace an old activity category with a new one. Whatever the case may be, You can now disable (or re-enable) activity categories. Learn more.

📊 Improved board metrics for job seekers

Board metrics make it easy for your job seekers to self track their jobs, applications, and any other type of activity through time (by day, week, month).

We've added a date picker so that job seekers can explore their performance for any date range of their choice. If you are encouraging your job seekers to send a certain number of applications, or log a minimum number of activities, board metrics make it easy for job seekers to check on their progress. Learn more.

🗂 New activity tabs

The new tabs in the activities page make it easier to digest activities by splitting them up in four groups: Networking, Applications, Interviews and Offers. All activities are still accessible through the default 'All' tab. If you’ve created custom activity categories that you want to belong in any of those sections just edit the ‘Activity Category Type’ field for that category and set it to one of those 4 options.

🤖Create job posts for your portal from the API

Our new job post creation API endpoint makes it easy to save job posts to your organization's portal programatically. Read the changelog.

👩‍💼Employer partner job post submission form with Airtable and Zapier

Having a job post creation API endpoint means you can not only send job posts to Huntr from your home built systems, but can also create interesting integrations through Zapier. We wrote a tutorial showing how to create an employer facing job post submission form using Airtable and Zapier. Check it out at the link below! Read the tutorial.

🌎 Introducing Job Portal

Job portal is a shared internal jobs portal for your organization. It makes it easy for your staff to publish job opportunities, sourced from hiring partners or from around the web, to a portal accessible by all of your job seekers.

This feature is included in all Huntr Advisor plans, at no extra cost. Advisors can save job opportunities to the portal manually through the Advisor Portal or by using the Chrome Extension. Learn more.

🤖 API updates

As part of the Job Portal launch, we’ve made a few additions to our API:

  • We created a new Job Post API resource along with endpoints to list all job posts saved into your organization’s portal and retrieve individual job post information.
  • We added new job post fields in the job and activity resources, which will show whenever a job was saved from a portal job post, or when an activity is related to a specific job that was sourced from a job post.
  • Finally, we created three new Action types, all of which trigger existing webhooks whenever a job post is created, updated or deleted.

For more details on these updates read the changelog.
